About the event

Every human experiences stress from time to time. Anything from everyday responsibilities like school and family to significant life events such as a medical diagnosis, war, divorce, or the death of a loved one can trigger stress. 

The human body is designed to experience stress, to react to it, and then to recover from it. Our bodies respond to stress by releasing hormones that increase our heart and breathing rates and ready our muscles to respond to the threat. Quite literally our bodies tense up to protect and defend us. For some people their shoulders hunch upwards, for others their fists clench or their jaws tighten. Some get what feels like knots in their stomach.  

In and of itself, there’s no real problem with these instinctual reflexes; in fact it is our natural response to a stressful event.  However, if stress is experienced frequently and continuously enough our bodies can become stuck in reactive patterns and tension. As stress accumulates in the body it can lead to all sorts of symptoms: anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic fatigue, compromised digestive system, inability to concentrate, hypervigilance and so forth. 

This is where TRE® comes in. TRE® stands for Tension/Trauma Release Exercises. Created by Dr. David Berceli, TRE® involves a series of exercises designed to fatigue and activate specific muscles in the body. This activation evokes a natural shaking response that assists the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma.  

TRE® group classes offer a safe and supportive environment in which to get back in touch with your body's natural way of healing and restoring itself. Come join us at Sote every Sunday at 11am!

Important things to know: -Class fee: Drop-in is 300 baht, 5 pack is 1,000 baht, and/or if you bring a friend you and your friend can get a class for free (limit two times). -Wear comfortable clothes and bring a friend :) -Breakfast/Lunch & drinks available at Sote Cafe before and after the class.
